This role supervises DSD and Merchandising Clerks for Grocery, coordinates promotions with Operations, and drives category strategy while ensuring compliance with company policies and equal employment opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing with 5+ years in retail buying or equivalent.
• Experience with category management, assortment planning, and vendor negotiations.
• Retail store experience and strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales results.
• Achieve sales and margin targets per planning process.
• Develop assortment plans by product group.
• Manage category advertising and promotions, including assortment, product mix, sales and gross margins.
• Oversee inventory life cycles and promotional purchases.
• Negotiate favorable terms, trade allowances, and new item allowances with suppliers.
• Develop marketing and promotional programs for items and categories.
• Coordinate with Operations to implement category offerings accurately.
• Work with other Category Managers to optimize merchandising strategies and store performance.
• Develop and implement category and product line business strategies.
