Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and supervise team members in daily store operations across various departments.
- Serve as a mentor and coach for all team members.
- Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales, ensuring customer needs are met efficiently.
- Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours, product presentation, and company standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members to promote a positive company image.
- Handle staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
- Promote succession planning by providing career development opportunities and participating in promotion decisions.
- Manage disciplinary actions and make recommendations regarding employment status.
- Oversee P&L, sales achievement, and shrink control for the department.
- Model exceptional customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
- Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
- Ensure team members are thoroughly trained and have completed all required training.
- Spend the majority of time within the store communicating with customers and team members.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of related retail experience.
- At least one year of management experience.
- Experience in various store areas such as meat, bakery, produce, deli, and customer service.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members.
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to analyze financial data and teach suggestive selling.
- Commitment to working safely at all times.
- Ability to mentor team members across different roles.
- Completion of all required certifications.
