Military Deli and Bakery Services at Fort Irwin, CA 92310 is seeking an Assistant Manager/Shift Lead to support the deli/bakery manager. You will guide 5–10 staff, ensure top customer service, and uphold Food Safety standards while optimizing store profitability.

The role requires shift leadership experience, physical stamina, and availability for weekends/closing shifts. A Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience.
• Previous shift lead/management experience mandatory.
• Ability to stand and walk for entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Open availability, must work some weekends and closing shifts.
• Must have a valid Food Safety Management Certification or obtain one within 30 days from hire date.

Responsabilités

• Assist Deli/Bakery Manager in leading the department by directing 5-10 employees.
• Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting commissary requirements and maximizing profits.
• Oversee Food Safety and Sanitation policies and procedures.
• Help manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials and supplies.
• Assist in scheduling and training employees and delegating work assignments.
• Prepare, maintain, and track inventories and records to calculate monthly profit.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment to meet health and safety requirements.
• Develop professional communication with commissary management to meet financial objectives.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues with improved processes.
• Maintain department records for documentation of activities.
• Monitor employee morale and promote teamwork.
• Perform duties of staff as required in this hands-on position.
