Job summary

Kroger is seeking dedicated team members to deliver outstanding customer service in the deli department. You will assist customers, slice and prepare deli items, and promote specials while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Responsibilities include product knowledge, accurate portioning, and collaboration with store leadership to meet sales goals. Part-time roles offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth within Store Operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Provide fresh orders and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Use deli equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Prepare food to company standards and label/inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality, dates, and freshness.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs in cases and coolers.
• Report safety risks and incidents to management.
