Job summary

Kroger in Sunset, UT is seeking a friendly Deli Associate to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. You will slice deli meats and cheeses, prepare items to order, and keep the deli area clean and organized to ensure freshness and attract repeat shoppers.

Responsibilities include answering questions, stocking and labeling products, following safety and food-handling guidelines, and supporting the department manager to meet sales goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Retail experience (desired).
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) (desired).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with recommendations.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests.
• Offer product samples and inform customers of specials.
• Ensure freshness and proper portion sizes; monitor sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain temperature logs.
• Provide support across the deli/bakery/bistro with equipment usage.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
