Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking a part-time Deli Bakery Associate to serve our nation’s Military personnel and families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations. The role emphasizes enthusiastic customer service, teamwork, and proper food handling in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include slicing meats and cheeses, preparing party trays and sandwiches, stocking displays, and assisting with shipments.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age.
Cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
Effective and friendly communication skills.
Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation.
Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
Team player.
Grocery, food service or retail experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Slices deli meats and cheeses to customer’s request.
Prepares custom party trays and makes sandwiches accordingly.
Stock and organize displays and assist with shipments as needed.
Ensure proper sanitation of the department, equipment, and proper food handling/preparation.
Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
Other duties may include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, or other deli/bakery tasks.
