Job summary

Piggly Wiggly Wetumpka is seeking a Part-Time Deli Associate who delivers friendly, prompt service while preparing and serving deli items. You will maintain a clean work area and follow safety and food-handling guidelines in a fast-paced grocery setting.

The ideal candidate is at least 18, has a high school diploma or equivalent, and can communicate effectively in English while providing excellent customer service. Benefits are available for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.
• Stock and rotate department products to ensure freshness and minimize waste; restock and use supplies efficiently.
• Prepare and serve deli items such as hot meals, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; clean equipment and utensils.
• Operate department equipment safely and follow safety procedures.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
• Follow checkout/purchasing procedures and payment methods.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
