Job summary

Military Deli & Bakery Services is seeking an Assistant Manager/Shift Lead to support the Deli/Bakery department within a US Military Commissary location. You will lead a small team, maintain top customer service, and ensure strict adherence to food safety standards while driving department profitability.

The role requires hands-on supervision, scheduling help, and active participation in inventory control and process improvement to support the store's financial objectives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years grocery or 2+ years food service experience
• Previous shift lead/management experience mandatory
• Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise 5–10 employees in the Deli/Bakery department
• Maintain high levels of customer service and meet commissary requirements
• Oversee and enforce Food Safety and Sanitation policies and procedures
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegation of work assignments
• Manage inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering raw materials and supplies
• Maintain accurate department records and safe, clean working environment

ASSISTANT MANAGER/SHIFT LEADAs an Assistant Manager at Military Deli & Bakery Services you will have the opportunity to serve our nation’s Military personnel and their families at one of our 103 US Military Commissary locations.
