Reports to: Deli Department Manager

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

  • Leadership Support: Assist the Deli Department Manager in achieving labor goals and departmental profit objectives, focusing on shrink control and efficient operations.
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and reinforce Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations. Train and develop associates to ensure high retention and performance.
  • Guest Experience: Provide outstanding customer service, resolve guest concerns, and ensure a positive experience for all.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage inventory, pricing, and special orders. Address sales floor and back-stock conditions as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Deli Department Manager on performance reviews, coaching, and hiring.
  • Safety & Compliance: Uphold safety standards and food safety procedures.
  • Support & Training: Provide ongoing feedback and training to associates at 30, 60, and 90 days.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular, timely attendance and communicate absences appropriately.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

  • Leadership Skills: Supervisory experience with strong interpersonal skills and team motivation abilities.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of retail food operations, merchandising, and perishables.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate with staff and guests.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety policies and equipment operation.
  • Food Safety Certification: ServeSafe certification (Festival will cover certification costs if needed).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months in a Counter Lead or Night Lead role.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical requirements include standing for long periods, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to varying temperatures. Accommodations can be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Work Schedule

This full-time position involves working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
