Job summary

Jerry’s Enterprises, Inc. at Cub Foods Alexandria is seeking a part-time Deli Associate to join our team. The role involves preparing deli meats and cheeses, serving customers, and keeping displays stocked and clean. You may handle pork and must enjoy working with people in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent customer service, flexible scheduling, and a willingness to learn are valued. There is a potential hourly premium of $3.00 added for open availability.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide friendly customer service in a deli environment.
• Knowledge of meats and cheeses helpful for customer guidance.
• Food Safety training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make lasting connections with customers and assist them.
• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (may handle pork).
• Fill and rotate cases and displays, with light to moderate lifting.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary store and work with the team to keep the department top-notch.
• Be punctual and commit to scheduled shifts.

Location: Cub Foods Alexandria

Reports to: Deli Manager

Classification: Part Time

Rate of Pay: Up to $17.00 / hour, based on experience

Hours: Sunday – Saturday, evening hours

Responsibilities:

• Make lasting connections with our customers
• Prepare deli products including a variety of meats and cheeses (you may have to handle pork)
• Fill and rotate cases and displays (may be some heavy lifting-up to 50lbs)
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
• Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department
• Be a part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled

Position functions and job responsibilities may vary by store location.

Physical & Equipment Requirements

• FREQUENT: Physical lifting/carrying to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 500 to 1500 pounds walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting
• Equipment Operation: scanner, register, scale, check approval machine, coupon machine, and intercom pallet jack, highboy cart, box cutter, tongs, steamer, slicer, wrapper, knives, roaster, chicken fryer, chicken hot case, pizza oven, coffee pot, cleaning utensils
• Mental: judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math
• Environmental: exposure to hot and cold temperatures, hot equipment and cooking oil
• OCCASIONAL: Physical: lifting/carrying over 50 lbs., crawling
• **FREQUENT: 15% of the work shift or at least ten repetitions per work shift. **OCCASIONAL: Approximately less than 15% of the work shift or fewer than 10 repetitions per work shift
