Job summary

Copper Ridge Nursing & Assisted Living Center is seeking a full-time RN to serve as the Delegating Nurse, overseeing delegated medication administration and supervision in compliance with COMAR 10.27.11.

The role requires performing initial and 45-day assessments, monitoring clinical status, and evaluating the competency of medication assistants, with detailed supervision plans and site visits as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed registered nurse.
• Must have completed a Board approved Medication Administration Training Program for Assisted Living.
• Must be certified with the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Medication Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assess the clinical status of the resident every 45 days.
• Assess the competency of the medication assistant administering medication at the same time as the 45-day site visit.
• Assess the task to be delegated included complexity.
• Assess the environment in which the task is to be performed.
• Determine the instruction and frequency of supervision required to monitor the caregiver.

Job description

Copper Ridge Nursing & Assisted Living Center is recruiting for a full-time registered nurse who agrees to serve as the Delegating Nurse. The Delegating Nurse is responsible for the delegating medication administration and supervision of medication administration to residents in assisted living settings in compliance with COMAR 10.27.11.

Responsibilities:

• Perform an initial and 45-day assessment during the site visit to the home. The follow-up site visit must occur at a minimum of every forty-five (45) days

A registered nurse may NOT present him/herself to an assisted living facility by limiting their activities to "Medication Review" and only examining the medication record.

The Registered Nurse/Delegating Nurse may only delegate medication administration to an individual who has completed a Board approved Medication Administration Training Program for Assisted Living and who is certified with the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Medication Technician.
