Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) seeks a strategic leader to direct the Affirmative Action and Compliance Unit (AACU), guiding department objectives and ensuring policy compliance across the agency. The role oversees managers and staff, and directs outreach to diverse communities and vendors.

The position partners with Human Resources to advance MWRA's equal opportunity goals, monitors EEO/AA compliance, and reports to the Board as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, management, or related field; graduate degree preferred.
  • At least seven years of related experience, including three years in supervision.
  • Massachusetts Class D driver's license or equivalent.
  • Completion of MCAD investigation training within 12 months of hire.
  • This role may require essential personnel status and up to 50% telework.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee AACU operations and supervise program managers and staff.
  • Coordinate outreach to minority and disadvantaged businesses for MWRA procurements.
  • Assist in compliance with EEO/AA laws and MWRA Code of Conduct.
  • Prepare reports and interact with the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Lead DEI initiatives, training, and related committee activities.
