Job Description

We are looking for a highly analytical and research-driven Degradation & Lifecycle Scientist to lead the study of battery aging across Exoben’s platforms.

In this role, you will investigate how and why battery performance declines over time under different operating conditions.

You will focus on identifying chemical, structural and operational factors that lead to degradation, including temperature effects, charge cycles and material fatigue.

You will work closely with electrochemists, materials scientists and engineering teams to translate your findings into practical improvements in battery design and system operation.

Key Responsibilities

You will study degradation mechanisms in lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries.

You will analyze capacity fade, internal resistance growth and performance decline.

You will investigate the impact of temperature, charging patterns and environmental conditions.

You will design experiments to simulate long-term battery usage.

You will identify root causes of failure and performance loss.

You will propose strategies to extend battery lifecycle and improve durability.

You will support validation and long-term testing programs.

You will collaborate with engineering teams to implement lifecycle improvements.

You will contribute to predictive models for battery aging.

Qualifications

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage. A PhD is preferred.

You have strong experience in battery degradation analysis or lifecycle studies.

You understand electrochemical aging, material fatigue and system behavior over time.

You are highly analytical, detail-oriented and research-driven.

You are able to connect laboratory findings with real-world performance.
