Job summary

Defense Acquisition Support Services LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to work with engineers, analysts, and SMEs to create and organize a broad range of technical reports and presentations. The role emphasizes edits for clarity, adherence to DoD guidelines, and the ability to translate complex scientific ideas into accessible language.

A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in the DoD/defense sector are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required and 5+ years of related experience.
Experience in DoD/Defense industry preferred.
Extensive experience with Army correspondence (AR 25-50) and technical writing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Collect and organize information for technical reports, correspondence, and presentations.
Edit and proofread technical information for use in documents.
Ensure reports and briefings follow DoD guidelines and use clear language.
Analyze documents to maintain message continuity and explain ideas simply.
Develop technical direction on product announcements and specifications; format documentation for consistency.
Assist in developing briefings, papers, schedules to inform government customers.
Interface with government and contractor engineers and management.
