Responsibilities

• Organize material and complete writing assignments according to standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Edit, standardize, or revise material prepared by others.
• Consult with customer representatives or SMEs to determine subject material and specifications for publication.
• Review published materials and propose revisions to scope, format, and content.
• Select visuals to illustrate materials and aid understanding.
• Study drawings/specifications to integrate technology, procedures, and production sequences.
• Assist in layout and preparation of publication materials.

A focus on either Analytical, Financial, logistics, engineering, technical writing and/or management of advanced networks for military vehicles and equipment. Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

MA/MS/MBA from an accredited college or university in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, Creative Writing with 10 years of experience as a technical writer within the DOD environment.

2 additional years and a BA/BS or 5 additional years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.

Maintain records and files of work and revisions.

Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.

Confer with customer representatives, vendors, or subject matter experts to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.

Review published materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.

Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.

Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.

Assist in laying out material for publication.

Draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence.

Desired Skills:

Ability to obtain a secret clearance as needed.
