Job Title

Defense Sustainment Forecasting Leader

Company Intro/About GE Aerospace

GE Aerospace is a world-leading provider of jet engines, components, and integrated systems for commercial and military aircraft. We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of aviation technology with a relentless focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, helping our customers meet mission readiness needs while defining the future of flight.

Site, Business, OR Functional Area Overview

This role is within Defense Engine Services (DES), supporting sustainment forecasting, demand planning, and inventory optimization for defense customers. The position partners across product lines, supply chain, operations, product management, contract performance, and sales to ensure end-to-end forecast alignment from engine removal to induction to return to customer.

This is an on-site role based in Lynn, MA or Evendale, OH.

Role Overview

The Defense Sustainment Forecasting Leader is accountable for aligning parts forecasting to business needs to enable efficient operations and optimized inventory management. This leader oversees forecasting across shop visits, workscopes, and piece-part demand, ensuring the business has accurate, timely, and actionable forecasts to support sustainment performance and customer readiness.

This is a people leader role with 8 direct reports and 5 contractors, requiring strong coaching, cross-functional influence, and operational rigor. The role also provides modeling leadership for Global Shop Visit Forecasts (GSVF), Life Cycle Cost (LCC) predictive models, and new deal/fleet baseline modeling to support growth and execution.

Key Responsibilities
Forecasting & Demand Planning

Lead shop visit forecasting to ensure fleet updates and shop visit forecasts are timely, accurate, and aligned to business assumptions. Provide leadership to piece-part forecasting, partnering with the Piece Part Forecasting (PPF) leader to coordinate demand reviews for the S&OP cycle, improve forecast consumption performance (including overconsumption reduction), and manage third-party forecasting deliverables. Own the end-to-end forecasting value stream from removal to induction to return to customer; connect shop visit forecasts to workscope assumptions and piece-part forecasts, improving alignment and handoffs across the value stream. Develop and maintain parts forecasts in collaboration with product leaders and general managers, leveraging historical performance, market trends, and business insights. Conduct demand reviews to ensure forecasts reflect current business objectives, market conditions, and fleet dynamics.

Modeling Team Leadership & Analytics

Provide direct support to Portfolio General Managers, Contract Performance Managers (CPMs), and Sales by ensuring the generation, accuracy, and on-time completion of Global Shop Visit Forecasts (GSVF) and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) predictive models. Manage fleet baseline and new deal models to support new engine sales, services campaigns, and other aftermarket analyses. Drive continuous improvement in data sources, analytical methods, and forecasting models to improve accuracy, relevance, and usability for decision-making. Maintain familiarity with modeling/simulation tools; experience with or exposure to ICAM (Infrastructure Contractual Agreement Modeling) is beneficial. Serve as the Supply Optimization functional leader for the forecasting/supply pillar of digital logistics sustainment, partnering to define capability requirements and roadmap needs.

Collaboration, Governance & Communication

Partner with cross-functional teams (product management, supply chain, operations, S&OP, CPMs, sales) to align forecasts with program needs and operational constraints. Facilitate recurring stakeholder cadence, including attendance at Level-4 Daily Management meetings with product line services leaders and the CSM team. Provide clear, actionable insights that inform planning decisions, trade-offs, and risk mitigation actions. Lead coordination with product leaders and business General Managers (GMs) to align and approve shop visit forecasts. Ensure strong linkage and communication between Shop Visit Forecast, S&OP, and Piece Part Forecasting teams so downstream planning teams can effectively consume forecast insights.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

Identify and implement improvements in forecasting and inventory management processes, leveraging continuous improvement fundamentals and standard work. Stay current on industry trends and advancements in forecasting methodologies, tools, and inventory optimization practices.

Services Program Leadership (General Responsibilities)

Lead service project execution as required (scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction), applying appropriate project methodologies and controls. Provide functional leadership within the discipline, influencing policy and ensuring delivery through cross-functional linkage and strong stakeholder management. Use sound judgment and data-driven analysis to resolve complex problems, evaluate conflicting information, and drive decisions using multiple internal and external sources. Lead teams or projects of moderate risk and complexity; communicate complex messages clearly and negotiate effectively with internal stakeholders and, when needed, external partners.
