Job summary

Peerless Technologies seeks a Research Scientist to advance defense-related R&D through scientific data processing, numerical methods, and physics-based analysis. You will develop algorithms and models, analyze large datasets, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver software solutions.

The role emphasizes end-user engagement to identify M&S requirements and resolve defects, with an expectation of hands-on coding in Python, C++, MATLAB, or R and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, CS or related field.
• At least 3 years of DoD-related research experience or in major weapon systems.
• Experience with scientific data processing, numerical methods, modeling & simulation, and physics phenomenology.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB, or R.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research in data processing, numerical techniques, software algorithms, modeling and simulation, and physics phenomenology.
• Develop and implement innovative algorithms, models, and computational methods to address complex scientific problems.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, generate insights, and support research objectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings into software applications and technical solutions.
• Work with end-user customers to identify future M&S requirements, recommend feature enhancements, and resolve software defects.
