Job summary

Advanced Armor Research Group (AARG) in Indian Head, MD, seeks a Project Engineer to support the design, development, manufacture, test and evaluation of prototype components and systems.

You will work with engineering, procurement, and program teams to ensure on-schedule delivery, cost-effective solutions, and compliance with DoD standards, including CMMC level 2. A BS in Engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing, product development, or government contracting are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Product Development, and/or R&D or government contracting.
• US citizen and able to obtain SECRET clearance.
• Ability to pass drug test and background check.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts Mon-Fri.
• Experience with DoW contract proposals, SOWs, and reporting per requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design for manufacturing and analysis of mechanical and electrical components.
• Facilitate design, analysis, testing, models, drawings, hardware repair, and sensor integration for government prototypes.
• Review and redline drawings, specs, firmware, and software to define DRs, NORs, and ECPs.
• Monitor supply chain and vendor materials to meet budgets and schedules.
• Manage major equipment purchasing and negotiations with vendors to maintain delivery schedules.
• Interface with vendors and sponsors to meet DoD/government requirements and standards.
• Engage with senior staff on technical matters affecting program execution and planning.
• Document requirements and milestones with technical staff.
• Maintain Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) level 2 compliance for communications.
