Job summary

BOWHEAD IS SEEKING AN Engineering Technician (Mechanical & Integration) to lead the physical buildouts, mounts, and cable routing for the Battle Management System across multiple platforms. The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication and mechanical integration, with cross-training in basic electronics, software loading, and lab configurations.

The position supports NSWCDD Dahlgren SILs with up to 20% travel. ET4/ET5 salary levels start at $38.39/hr or $46.96/hr, respectively, and reflect DoD

Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time engineering technician experience supporting DoD.
• Five years of hands-on testing of electronic systems in aerospace/defense.
• Experience reading, editing, and creating electrical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with mechanical fabrication, cabling, and platform-level integration.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and external contacts.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work alone or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Physically mount, secure, and integrate BMS hardware onto tactical platforms.
• Fabricate, route, and inspect cables and harnesses according to standards.
• Lead SIL preparation and maintain lab safety, cleanliness, and inventory.
• Assist in integration of manned and unmanned systems across air, land, and maritime domains.
• Cross-train to support electronics, GUI software installation, and GPS simulator setups.
