Job summary

Mission Technologies in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Assembly Technician to perform mechanical and electronic assembly on diverse products. You will support a production line, ensuring quality, and contributing to long-term capability growth within the Manufacturing Organization.

The role requires reading drawings, using hand tools and soldering, and the ability to lift 40 pounds. IPC-610/620/001 certification preferred; US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 2-year technical degree in related discipline with 3 years related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 5 years related experience.
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, part lists, connection diagrams, schematics, engineering sketches.
• Ability to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced and connected environment.
• Ability to obtain IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification.
• Self-motivated and driven to succeed with minimal direction.
• Ability to work both in a team and individually.
• Familiar with hand tools such as torque wrenches, wire cutters, strippers & crimpers, and soldering.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a DoD government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly and installation of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Work with team members in assembly and integration of new and existing products.
• Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions.
• Adhere to processes and procedures to meet business and program objectives.
• Analyze and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Operate hand tools such as drills, torque wrenches, wire cutters, wire strippers & crimpers.
• Identify and resolve tasks independently.
• Follow ESD principles and safeguarding practices.
• Able to lift 40 pounds.
