Boutique Recruiting is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal in Jackson, MS to support a team of attorneys on defense matters, including environmental litigation and complex disputes. This role handles discovery, medical records, court filings, and trial support, with about 60 billable hours per month.

Salary range: $82,000-$85,000 per year, DOE. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, and able to anticipate attorney needs, manage deadlines, and communicate status clearly.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of litigation paralegal or legal assistant experience.
• Defense-side litigation experience and trial experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures, discovery, eDiscovery, and document review.
• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate.
• Advanced Microsoft Word; proficient in Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple attorneys across active defense matters while keeping priorities, deadlines, and deliverables organized.
• Manage discovery, eDiscovery, document review, and medical record follow-up, including summarizing medical records when needed.
• Draft, proofread, and format legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Handle calendaring, state and federal court filings, subpoenas and other litigation-related administrative responsibilities.
• Proactively communicate case status, outstanding items, and next steps to attorneys without requiring follow-up.
• Track and enter billable time daily while maintaining approximately 60 billable hours per month.
• Assist with trial preparation and travel to trials as needed, typically once or twice per year.
