Job summary

Hawkins Parnell & Young, LLP, a nationally renowned litigation firm, invites applications for a 2–4 year associate in California. The position offers exposure to varied and complex defense litigation, from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeal, within a national team of nearly 300 lawyers.

The successful candidate must hold an active Bar license, demonstrate strong academic credentials, and show a willingness to learn and gain trial experience.

Qualifications

• Active Bar License in good standing; multiple licenses are a plus.
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, analytical, and communications skills.
• 2-4 years’ experience in defense litigation; product liability or toxic tort a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment with strong organizational skills and deadlines.
• Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects and work well in a team.

The successful candidate will be a part of a national team of almost 300 lawyers and professional staff spread across nine offices located in Atlanta, Charleston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Napa, New York, St. Louis, and San Francisco.

• Actively licensed and in good standing with a state bar; multiple bar licenses are a plus but not mandatory
• Excellent academic credentials and strong writing, analytical, and communications skills
• 2-4 years’ experience in defense litigation. Product liability or toxic tort litigation a plus
• Ability to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
• Must be a self-starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities and understand the importance of deadlines
