Job summary

VTG is seeking a Data Scientist to design, prototype, and implement a data management and application development pipeline in support of national defense data science initiatives. You will gather and organize data, perform analytics, and develop AI/ML applications while collaborating with DevOps, software, and data teams on the full data life cycle.

The role requires a TS/SCI-eligible candidate and onsite work in Beavercreek, OH, with strong communication skills and experience across data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems or related field is required.
• 4+ years as a Data Scientist with experience in statistical modeling and ML on large datasets.
• Experience with data storage and management tools (S3, SQL, MongoDB, HBase, Apache Atlas, Kafka).
• Proficiency in Python, R or similar data manipulation languages and libraries (pandas, numpy, etc.).
• Experience with data science toolsets (JupyterHub/Jupyter Notebooks, Apache Spark, MATLAB).
• Knowledge of data modeling principles; ability to extract insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Cloud development experience, preferably AWS.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; US Citizen with TOP SECRET/SCI eligibility or ability to obtain.
• Background check successful completion.
