Teradyne’s Defense & Aerospace division seeks a Strategic Business Development Manager in North Reading, MA. You will identify strategic opportunities, build relationships with defense and space leaders, and position Teradyne’s test solutions in a dynamic market.

The role requires 10+ years in aerospace/defense BD, strong industry networks, and knowledge of DoD funding and contracting. Local candidates only; sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time role with salary in the stated range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in business development, strategic sales, or related roles in aerospace/defense tech.
• Strong network across defense tech, space, and DoD ecosystems.
• Working knowledge of US defense acquisition, budget cycles, and contracting mechanisms.
• Ability to engage in technical discussions on electronic/test systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a market map of emerging defense, aerospace, and commercial space companies, programs, stakeholders, and funding sources.
• Monitor DoD funding priorities, innovation initiatives, venture investments, and acquisition pathways.
• Develop relationships with engineering, manufacturing, test, operations, and executive leaders in target accounts.
• Represent Teradyne at industry conferences, trade shows, meetings, and events to raise awareness and opportunities.
• Qualify opportunities by assessing requirements, drivers, timing, funding, and decision processes.
• Partner with regional sales and named account teams to ensure smooth transition of opportunities into the pipeline.
• Maintain accurate activity and opportunity data in Salesforce and provide market insights to leadership.
• Support strategic planning by spotting tech trends and evolving test requirements across defense and space markets.
