Werner Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Dedicated Transportation Coordinator to manage and communicate with our truck fleet during off-hours using satellite and telephone networks.

The role involves dispatching drivers, monitoring load statuses, authorizing driver expenses, and troubleshooting routing and scheduling issues to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with focus on Transportation/Logistics or equivalent experience.
• 6 months to 1 year of dispatch experience preferred.
• Moderate computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with truck fleet during off-hours via satellite and phone.
• Monitor load statuses: assigned, pre-assigned, committed, and late.
• Authorize and pay driver expenses; assist with driver safety issues; plan trailer swaps.
• Troubleshoot issues: late loads, routing, permits, lumpers, advances, overweight.
• Handle driver calls about hometime, swaps/splits, routing.
• Perform duties including copying, contacting customers for directions, and gathering directions from the internet.
• Maintain timely attendance per shift set by supervision.

Job Summary

Dedicated Transportation Coordinators manage, coordinate, and communicate with our truck fleet during off‑hours via satellite and telephone networks.

Responsibilities

• Continuously answer and process messages from 180 to 300 drivers through the Qualcomm satellite communication system.
• Monitor assigned, pre‑assigned, committed, and late load statuses.
• Authorize and pay out driver expenses, assist with driver personal and safety issues, and plan trailer swaps and splits as needed.
• Troubleshoot driver issues such as late loads, load assignments, routing, permits, lumpers, advances, empty trailer searches, and overweight problems.
• Answer telephone calls from drivers regarding hometime, swaps/splits, and routing issues.
• Perform various duties as needed, including copying, calling customers for directions, retrieving directions from the internet, and other related tasks.
• Maintain timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift set by supervisory personnel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Transportation/Logistics, Management, or Marketing, or equivalent experience.
• Six months to one year of previous dispatch experience preferred.
• Mid‑range computer experience preferred.
