Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
• Must meet Indiana requirements for transporting students in a school vehicle.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain a school transportation vehicle.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and school staff.
• Ability to exercise patience and good judgment with a student.
• Must maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Successful completion of background checks and required training.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport the assigned student between home and school.
• Operate the vehicle safely, courteously, and defensively.
• Follow routes and schedules allowing for traffic/weather.
• Maintain supervision of the student during transport.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues.
• Communicate professionally with families and staff.
• Keep vehicle clean and well maintained.
• Arrive on time and maintain attendance.
