Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Indiana is seeking a Special Education Bus Assistant to assist a bus driver during pick-up and drop-off at Mentone Elementary. The role runs after school hours, 3:00 pm–5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, and focuses on safety and positive student engagement.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, strong communication, teamwork, and preferably experience with students who have disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate well and work with a team
• Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver in implementing bus rules and safety procedures
• Assist student with entering/exiting the bus and school building
• Assist bus driver with evacuation drills
• Help students to secure seat belts and 5-point harness
• Engage with students to promote a positive bus environment
