Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services seeks a Dedicated Phone Installation Technician with a current TS/SCI w Poly to support the Network Solutions Division in Northern Virginia. The role involves installing and troubleshooting telephones, cabling, and voice/data equipment on customer networks.

Responsibilities include surveys, rack mounting, and ensuring cabling meets industry standards. Local travel between client sites is required; shift runs 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with potential flex for coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience implementing customer LAN infrastructure, including scripting, config, cutover, and troubleshooting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing/troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on customer networks.
• Experience with cabling (DSX panels, 110 blocks, RJ45 panels, fiber terminations) and reading cable run lists.

• Install and troubleshoot telephones and network equipment, including cabling and rack mounting.
• Dress cables to standards and connect power and service cabling.
• Conduct surveys for engineering/VSIT as needed; travel between customer sites as required.

We are actively recruiting for a Dedicated Phone Installation Technician with a current TS/SCI w/ Poly to support our Network Solutions Division, based in Northern Virgina.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing high quality installations and troubleshooting a variety of telephones, running and terminating cables to voice switch equipment.
• Dressing cabling appropriately according to industry and Customers standards.
• Mounting voice and network equipment in racks, running and connecting both power and service cabling as appropriate.
• Performing surveys as necessary to collect or validate information for the engineering or VSIT personnel.
• Local travel will be required between customer buildings.

Work required shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM as part of a coverage team operating between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Shift may need to flex given requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with implementation of the customers LAN infrastructure (including scripting, configuration, cutover and troubleshooting).
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing and troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on the Costumer networks.
• Experience in a variety of cabling areas including 110 type cross connections, RJ45 patch panels, wire wrap terminals, copper cable terminations, DSX Panel T-1 cabling, fiber terminations.
• Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists.
• High School Diploma with 6 years of experience, or an Associate's Degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with implementation on the Customers network LAN infrastructure.
• Special non-commercial systems administrator experience (access management/file transfer)
• VoIP Telephone Installation experience.
• Related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
• Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts. Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
