Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services, Inc. seeks a Dedicated Phone Installation Technician with a current TS/SCI w/ Poly to support the Network Solutions Division in Northern Virginia.

You will install and troubleshoot telephones, cabling, and network equipment at customer sites, with local travel and a shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Minimum 2 years' experience in LAN infrastructure, phone instruments and media gateways, and cabling; HS diploma with 6+ years, or higher degree with more experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years implementing LAN infrastructure (including scripting, configuration, cutover and troubleshooting).
• Minimum 2 years installing and troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on the Customer networks.
• Experience with cabling types and standards (110 type cross connections, RJ45 panels, copper/fiber terminations).
• High School Diploma with 6 years of experience, or Associate’s Degree with 4 years, or Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Performing high quality installations and troubleshooting telephones, running and terminating cables to voice switch equipment.
• Dressing cabling per industry and customer standards.
• Mounting voice and network equipment in racks and connecting power and data cabling.
• Conducting surveys to collect or validate information for engineering or VSIT personnel.
• Local travel between customer buildings is required.

We are actively recruiting for aDedicated Phone Installation Technician witha current TS/SCI w/ Polyto support ourNetwork Solutions Division, based inNorthern Virgina.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performing high quality installations and troubleshooting a variety of telephones,runningandterminatingcables to voice switch equipment.
• Dressing cabling appropriately according to industry and Customers standards.
• Mounting voice and network equipment in racks, runningand connecting both power and service cabling asappropriate.
• Performing surveys as necessary to collect or validateinformation for the engineering or VSIT personnel.
• Local travel will be requiredbetween customer buildings.

Work required shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM as part of a coverage team operating between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Shift may need to flex given requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with implementation of the customers LAN infrastructure (including scripting, configuration, cutover and troubleshooting).
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing and troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on the Costumer networks.
• Experience in a variety of cabling areas including 110 type cross connections, RJ45 patch panels, wire wrap terminals, copper cable terminations, DSX Panel T-1 cabling, fiber terminations.
• Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists.
• High School Diploma with 6 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with implementationonthe Customers network LAN infrastructure.
• Special non-commercial systems administrator experience (access management/file transfer)
• VoIP Telephone Installation experience.
• Related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantlyoperatea computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices, position self tomaintainequipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
• Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts.Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
