Job summary

Acclaim Technical Services in Northern Virginia is seeking a Dedicated Phone Installation Technician to support our Network Solutions Division. The role involves installing and troubleshooting telephones, cabling, and voice equipment for government clients.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of LAN and telephony experience, strong cabling knowledge, and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. Local travel to customer sites is expected on a regular basis.

We are actively recruiting for a Dedicated Phone Installation Technician witha current TS/SCI w/ Poly to support our Network Solutions Division, based in Northern Virgina.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performinghigh qualityinstallations and troubleshooting a variety of telephones,runningandterminatingcables to voice switch equipment.
• Dressing cabling appropriately according to industry and Customers standards.
• Mounting voice and network equipment in racks,runningand connecting both power and service cabling asappropriate.
• Performing surveys as necessary to collect or validateinformation for the engineering or VSIT personnel.
• Local travel will be requiredbetween customer buildings.

Work required shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM as part of a coverage team operating between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Shift may need to flex given requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with implementation of the customers LAN infrastructure (including scripting, configuration, cutover and troubleshooting).
• Minimum 2 years of experience installing and troubleshooting telephone instruments and media gateways on the Costumer networks.
• Experience in a variety of cabling areas including 110 type cross connections, RJ45 patch panels, wire wrap terminals, copper cable terminations, DSX Panel T-1 cabling, fiber terminations.
• Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists.
• High School Diploma with 6 years of experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with implementationonthe Customers network LAN infrastructure.
• Special non-commercial systems administrator experience (access management/file transfer)
• VoIP Telephone Installation experience.
• Related work experience in IT hardware and cabling installation.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantlyoperatea computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices, position self tomaintainequipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
• Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50 pounds or more, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts.Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
