Greene County Educational Service Center seeks a qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students at Juvenile Justice Centers in Xenia, Ohio. The role involves providing instructional support, monitoring progress, and keeping students engaged throughout their online coursework.

Ideal candidates hold an Ohio Substitute Teaching License or Ohio Teaching License, with a background in mathematics preferred and experience with at-risk youth.

Formación

• Must hold a valid Ohio Substitute Teaching License or Ohio Teaching License.
• Preferred background in mathematics.
• Experience with at-risk youth or diverse educational/behavioral needs preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships and support academic growth.
• Willingness to learn and use various technology platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and support students as they complete coursework through an online curriculum.
• Track student progress to ensure they remain on pace with assigned coursework and academic expectations.
• Provide instruction, assistance, and additional academic support as needed.
• Help students stay engaged, focused, and accountable for their learning.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic progress.
• Communicate student progress and concerns with appropriate staff.
• Collaborate with facility personnel, GCESC staff, Outside School District and Court Supervisors to support student success.
