AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is hiring Dedicated Local Drivers to handle pick-up and delivery within a limited area. Local drivers are hourly employees with home daily, flexible hours, and a benefits package covering health, dental, vision, and more.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, regulatory compliance, paperwork accuracy, and strong public relations. Candidates need a high school diploma, clean driving history, and forklift/HazMat familiarity may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 21 years or older.
• Clean driving history.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Satisfactory background check.
• Flexible hours.
• Ability to be certified as a forklift operator.
• Familiar with proper procedures for handling hazardous materials.
• Read, write, speak and understand English well.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and legal operation of vehicles.
• Check shipping papers to determine if the load complies with all required regulations.
• Develop and maintain professional and effective relations between our company and the public.
• Drive truck to the required destination in accordance with federal regulations.
• Ensure that all shipping documentation required to move with shipments is available for inspection.
• Hook and unhook trailers from tractors, including cranking lever to raise and lower landing gear.
• Inspect equipment for defects and safe operating condition as required by state/federal laws and AAA Cooper.
• Fuel trucks and tractors.
• Perform all other work related duties as assigned.
• Be able to sit and remain alert while driving for an extended period of time.
• Perform frequent actions such as: squatting, bending, twisting, turning and reaching overhead.
• Frequently carry freight weighing up to 110 lbs.
