Job summary

Mid-American Specialized Transport is seeking a drivers supervisor in Operations to lead driver performance and serve as the primary communication link to drivers. You will focus on data accuracy, on-time service, maintenance coordination, and customer satisfaction.

You will manage a full board of tractors and drivers, monitor safety metrics, coordinate with Load Planners and Service teams, and guide strategic planning for workload and service schedules.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in related field
• 3 years of experience in transportation
• Decision-making ability with little supervision
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as sole communications link to driver for load information, advances, PO, maintenance, and company news.
• Manage assigned tractors and drivers to optimize performance in data entry accuracy, turnover control, and utilization.
• Ensure drivers are current on preventative maintenance.
• Update drivers on road conditions and restrictions from Safety.
• Notify HR promptly of drivers' medical conditions or attendance issues.
• Handle driver complaints and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.
• Collaborate with Load Planners and Fleet Managers to plan workload.
• Coordinate with Service and Breakdown to maintain equipment and meet service schedules.
• Think strategically and plan ahead amid rapid changes with a team-oriented attitude.
• Maintain organization and engagement with team members.
• Maintain positive attitude and trust when issues arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change without notice.

Summary:Serve as driver's supervisor/representative in Operations. Manage drivers performance in identified categories and be primary communication link to drivers. Work to achieve optimum driver and customer satisfaction.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Sole communications link to driver, including, but not limited to, load information, advances, purchase orders, maintenance coordination, performance counseling, and dissemination of general company news and information.2. Responsible for assigned full board of tractors and drivers, including, but not limited to effective management for optimum performance in the following categories:· Ensuring data entry is correct always. Coding errors on service failures need to be minimal. Fleet Managers will be responsible for 99.5% data entry accuracy.· Responsible to ensure your driver turnover stays in the ideal range. The ideal range will vary month by month, but preventable turnover should never exceed 60%.· Utilization, mileage may vary as well, depending on the month. Utilization overall should be 310-326 MPU per day. In case of dedicated freight your MPU goal may be adjusted to fit the expectation of that specific business unit.· On-time Service- Service failures should be minimal. It is your responsibility to communicate to the driver the customers expectations.· Overall safety- Hours of service, unsafe driving, and overall CSA scores will affect your bonus potential.3. Make sure drivers are current on preventative maintenance on their trucks.4. Update drivers on road conditions and restrictions as communicated by the Safety Department.5. Communicate to HR in a timely manner on Drivers Medical Conditions or attendance issues.6. Handling driver complaints and ensuring complaints are escalated to the appropriate person or department and handled in a timely manner.7.
