Job summary

Wellvance Community Mental Health Authority is seeking a Dedicated Emergency Service Worker to provide rapid-response mental health crises care. The role covers counties Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda, with home base at Wellvance locations.

The clinician will respond to crises in hospital ERs and via telepractice, perform assessments, safety planning, and aftercare follow-ups, ensuring high-quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• MSW, MA Counseling, LBSW or RN, eligible to bill T1023 code.
• One year of experience with mental illness preferred.
• Children's mental health track requires Master’s in mental health field and experience with minors.

Responsibilities

• Respond to psychiatric crises in community hospital emergency departments and via telepractice.
• Conduct assessments, diagnostic screenings, safety planning, and crisis interventions.
• Collaborate with ED physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, accessible care.
• Provide aftercare follow-up through phone calls and face-to-face consultations.
