The Access therapist has specific responsibility of responding to incoming calls from consumers requesting services, completing in person and phone Access screening, determining eligibility for services, informing consumers of any possible charges they may incur and scheduling initial Intake appointments. The Access therapist must maintain documentation compliance and adherence to Wellvance policy and procedure. Further responsibilities include collaboration with community referral sources and interagency colleagues, crisis intervention, after hours Emergency Services Staff and Master's on-call participation, ICSS participation, reviewing Records Requests, completing Intake Assessments and IPOS', and conducting Case File Reviews. The Access therapist must have attention to detail, time management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and organizational skills. Candidates must have an understanding of Medicaid guidelines, medical necessity guidelines, DSM criteria, internal Wellvance resources, community resources, and therapeutic interventions. The Access Therapist functions as the daytime Master's on call for ES staff. Persons with Lived Experience with mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities or substance abuse disorders are encouraged to apply.**Education and/or Experience*** Master's Degree (MSW) of Social Work and be licensed by the State of Michigan in their relative field as either limited or full license.* Master's Degree (M.A.) in Psychology or Counseling and be licensed by the State of Michigan in relative field as either limited or full license.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities*** Conduct eligibility screenings, intake assessments, and diagnostic evaluations to determine appropriate levels of care.* Develop person-centered treatment plans and make service recommendations based on medical necessity criteria.* Complete and maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.* Coordinate referrals and assist individuals in accessing behavioral health, community, and insurance resources.* Provide consultation and care coordination with healthcare providers, schools, courts, and other community partners.* Ensure compliance with agency policies, Medicaid requirements, licensing standards, and program fidelity expectations.* Provide crisis intervention, emergency mental health consultations, and participate in on-call coverage as assigned.* Conduct case reviews and participate in quality improvement, supervision, staff meetings, and professional development activities.* Collaborate with clinical teams and leadership to support service delivery and continuity of care.* Maintain professional relationships with consumers, staff, and community stakeholders while representing the agency positively.**About Wellvance**Wellvance provides state-funded public mental health services to residents of Iosco, Ogemaw, and Oscoda counties.
