Job summary

Leonard Johnson Early Learning Center in Englewood, NJ, is hiring a full-time Teacher’s Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children. You will help implement daily lesson plans, classroom routines, and individualized supports, contributing to children’s development and well-being in line with the center’s philosophy.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families and staff, participation in trainings, and adherence to program

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Experience in early childhood classroom settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans, instructional activities, and classroom routines.
• Provide individualized support aligned with children’s developmental needs and interests.
• Follow Lead Teacher direction to ensure consistency in instruction, routines, and classroom expectations.
• Engage children in developmentally appropriate interactions that promote learning, play, and social-emotional development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
• Support health, safety, and supervision practices in accordance with licensing regulations.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources.
• Assist with family communication and attend Parent/Teacher conferences.
