Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Deco Printer Mechanic for our Nichols, NY facility on a night shift with a 2/2/3 schedule. The role focuses on operating and maintaining high-speed printing equipment, ensuring quality and process efficiency.

The candidate will train peers and perform changeovers with precision. The job requires a high school diploma or higher plus 5+ years in manufacturing, with preferred associates/technical credentials.

Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed automated equipment and preventative maintenance required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates the printer and assists other operators.
  • Verifies proper setup of printer equipment.
  • Inspects printers for defects in the manufacturing process.
  • Performs print changeover setups for label design.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Conducts hourly quality checks on printer and related equipment.
  • Audits printer applications to ensure SOP compliance.
  • Analyzes spoilage, records causes, and takes corrective actions.

Deco Printer Mechanic

Location: Nichols, NY

Salary: We offer competitive pay starting at $32.52 to $48.78 *Actual salary will be determined based on skill and experience level*

Hours: Night shift position on a 2/2/3 scheduled of two days on then two days off then three days on. Then days on and off rotate the following week. This is a 12 hour shift.

Responsibilities
  • Operates the printer, trains and offers aid to other operators.
  • Verifies proper setup of printer equipment...
  • Inspects printers for quality defects in the manufacturing process.
  • Performs label design changeover setups.
  • Performs preventative maintenance assignments.
  • Performs hourly quality control checks to ensure printer and related equipment is within specifications.
  • Audits printer applications to ensure SOP specifications are met.
  • Analyze spoilage, record causes and take corrective actions where applicable.
  • Monitors equipment or processes and reports all problems to supervision.
  • Follows all SOP operating procedures.
  • Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
Requirements
  • Candidate must successfully pass a Crown Color/Hue test.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
  • An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (journeyman card, technical license, etc.).
  • Strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise are required for these roles.
  • Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment.
  • High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • This position also requires the individual to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications.
  • Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment.
