Job summary

Michigan Can Lines, LLC is seeking a skilled Decoration Technician to support the decoration process of aluminum cans. The role ensures efficient operation of printing and decorating equipment, performs quality checks, and supports the team to meet production targets while maintaining safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include operating decorating machinery, monitoring quality, performing repairs and setups, training teammates, and coordinating with maintenance and quality teams

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in aluminum can decorating or similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain decorating machinery.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain high product quality and consistency.
• Knowledge of safety standards and OSHA-related regulations and the ability to enforce them.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team to meet production targets.
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve production issues quickly.
• Good verbal and written communication to work with cross-functional teams.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs in a manufacturing setting with exposure to hazards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain can decorating machinery (printing presses, label applicators) for optimal production.
• Monitor decoration process to meet quality standards and customer specs.
• Perform regular quality checks and implement corrective actions for defects.
• Troubleshoot machine-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain output quality.
• Assist in setup and adjustment of decorating machines (screen/offset printing).
• Train decorating team members and ensure proficiency with machinery.
• Manage decorating supplies (inks, coatings, materials) to meet demand.
• Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards in the decorating area.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive process improvements.
• Participate in routine maintenance and equipment adjustments.
• Maintain clean, organized work area per 5S standards.
• Support meeting production goals while upholding safety and quality.
• Other duties as assigned.
