Job summary

A maritime operations company is seeking a Deckhand to ensure safe vessel operations at Naval Base Point Loma, CA. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of maritime standards and must hold a USCG Able Bodied Seaman certification. Responsibilities include assisting with vessel maintenance, handling mooring lines, and performing routine inspections. The position requires physical stamina and effective communication skills. Competitive hourly pay of $35.28 plus health benefits is offered, with no relocation assistance.

Qualifications

  • USCG Able Bodied (AB) Seaman MMC required.
  • Able to pass medical background exam for handling of Ordnance.
  • Valid TWIC and MMC with applicable endorsements.
  • Minimum of 2 years as AB, with experience in government or DoD operations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the safe operation and maintenance of vessel decks.
  • Handle mooring lines during docking and undocking.
  • Support loading and securing of cargo according to safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections and report deficiencies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the ship.
