Job summary

Moran Towing Corporation is seeking a Deckhand to support ship-assist operations around the Morehead City Harbor and Beaufort Inlet. This position is open as full-time and casual relief, with applicants residing within a 30-40 mile radius of Morehead City, NC.

The role requires Merchant Mariners Credential (MMC), TWIC, and USCG qualifications where applicable, plus a pre-employment drug screen. The company offers competitive pay and opportunities for career development in a team-oriented marine

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills are required as a preferred qualification.
• Maritime experience aboard a vessel is preferred.
• MMC (Merchant Mariners Credential) or applicable MMC path with 60-day start date window is required.
• TWIC and STCW certification (if required for service) are required or pursued as needed.
• USCG 719k physical examination and pre-employment drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all lawful orders.
• Reporting unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement.
• Performing duties safely and efficiently.
• Acting as lookout as required.
• Working on deck, including ship docking and tug mooring operations.
• Conducting engine room rounds as required.
• Being familiar with vessel equipment.
• Carrying out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance duties.
• Other duties as designated by the Captain or designee.
