Job summary

Moran Towing Corporation is seeking a Deckhand for Moran New Orleans. This full-time role reports to the Captain and Mate, supporting deck operations including docking, mooring, and engine room rounds.

Ideal candidates will hold MMC and TWIC, be prepared for STCW if required, and pass a pre-employment drug screen. The company emphasizes competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• MMC required, or if waterway exempt, apply for MMC within 60 days of start date.
• TWIC required.
• STCW certification if required for service.
• USCG 719k Physical examination meeting Merchant Mariner Medical certification.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screening required.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all lawful orders.
• Reporting unsafe situations or opportunities for improvement.
• Performing duties safely and efficiently.
• Acting as lookout as required.
• Working on deck, including ship docking and tug mooring operations.
• Conducting engine room rounds as required.
• Being thoroughly familiar with vessel’s equipment.
• Carrying out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance duties.
• Other duties as designated by the Captain or his/her designee.
