Job Description

The Deckhand will maintain the vessel's cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing the deck. Responsibilities include seasonal maintenance such as sanding and painting to keep the vessel seaworthy, participating in passenger safety drills, and assisting in emergency situations.

• Maintain the cleanliness of the vessel's exterior by sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing the deck.
• Operate safety equipment such as fire hoses, winches, and davits, following safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with passengers.
• Participate in passenger safety drills and respond to emergency situations.
• Perform seasonal maintenance tasks like sanding and painting.
• Handle lines, and operate capstans and kevels for vessel tie-up procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Preferred: Six months of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, grasp, bend, stoop, crouch, and kneel for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to operate fire hoses, winches, and davits.
• Ability to throw and pull lines and use capstans and kevels.
• Must obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications.

Compensation ranges from $15.00 to $16.25 per hour.
