Responsibilities
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
  • Inspect and report on safety conditions affecting team members or cargo.
  • Handle rigging during tow building, locking, and docking activities.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and supplies.
  • Examine cables, wires, and lines for safety and functionality.
  • Secure barges using tow wires and cables safely and environmentally.
  • Perform basic vessel maintenance such as painting, cleaning, and oil changes.
  • Demonstrate integrity, teamwork, responsibility, agility, and customer focus.
  • Contribute positively as an active crew member.
Qualifications

You will need to have:

  • Minimum of 1 year of deckhand experience, preferably on inland rivers.
  • Availability to work 28 days onboard with 28/14 days off, and flexibility for overtime.
  • Reliable transportation to vessel port.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card, pass health questionnaires, physical, drug test, and background check.
  • Physical fitness for strenuous tasks and weather conditions.
  • Understanding of navigation and safety procedures.
  • Positive attitude and adaptability to work schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Additional inland river experience beyond minimum.
  • Reliable work history.
