Job summary

Instructure is seeking a Decision Scientist to advance data-informed decisions across the organization. This role will deliver high-quality analyses, partner with cross-functional teams, and drive insights that influence product strategies, pricing, and growth in an EdTech environment.

You will design and execute experiments, translate business questions into structured analytic frameworks, and own analytics lifecycles from scoping to outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (PhD a plus).
• 2–4 years of data science/analytics experience with actionable insights.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, ML fundamentals, and experimental design (A/B testing).
• Familiarity with AI tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, Glean) to improve productivity.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Python or R for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
• Proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Fivetran).
• Strong communication and storytelling skills for presenting analyses.
• Experience in SaaS, product analytics.

Responsibilities

• Support data-driven decision-making across the organization through high-quality analyses.
• Deliver analyses that inform product adoption, engagement, and revenue growth.
• Execute experiments and causal analyses to evaluate new features, pricing, and go-to-market initiatives.
• Partner with product, engineering, and marketing teams to translate questions into analytical frameworks.
• Own analytics projects from scoping to presenting insights and tracking outcomes.
• Apply AI tooling to accelerate analysis and improve deliverables.
• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
