Job summary

CVS Health is expanding its Analytics & Behavior Change team to turn clinical data into actionable insights. The Decision Scientist – Clinical Informatics will bridge clinical data assets with analysts and business partners, ensuring data is accessible, well-documented, and compliant.

You will develop standards, build a feature store, and create validated data assets to empower AI/ML workflows while aligning with HIPAA and regulatory requirements. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare analytics, or clinical data management.
• Familiar with CCD data, lab results, clinical notes, and administrative healthcare data.
• Proficient with SQL and large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Familiar with cloud-based data platforms (GCP BigQuery).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in clinical data, including CCD data.
• Build the clinical data feature store with standards and documentation.
• Develop analytics by creating reusable data assets for analysts and data scientists.
• Create and maintain data documentation, lineage, and business logic.
• Build queries, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data quality and insights.
• Translate clinical concepts into analytical frameworks for business partners.
• Collaborate with data engineering to support data pipelines.
• Learn data governance practices including HIPAA compliance.
• Stay current with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CPT, NDC, RxNorm.
