Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Decision Scientist - Clinical Informatics to activate the clinical data repository and improve health outcomes. You will build the clinical data feature store and well-documented data assets for analysts and data scientists to use across multiple lines of business.

You will collaborate with data engineers, translate concepts into analytical frameworks, and ensure data is accessible, compliant, and well-documented for downstream analytics and AI/ML use cases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in clinical informatics, healthcare analytics, or clinical data management.
• Familiar with clinical data types and structures (CCD data, lab results, notes, admin data).
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, NDC, RxNorm.
• Ability to support downstream data consumers via docs, training, and consultative support.
• Proficiency with SQL and large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) for querying and data management.
• Understanding of data quality principles including validation and monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in clinical data including CCD data.
• Build the clinical data feature store with standards and documentation.
• Develop analytics by creating reusable data assets (tables, views, features).
• Create and maintain comprehensive data documentation (dictionaries, lineage, business logic).
• Build queries, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data quality and insights.
• Translate clinical concepts into analytical frameworks for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with data engineering on data pipelines for ingestion and transformation.
• Learn data governance practices including HIPAA compliance and data stewardship.
• Stay current with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CPT, NDC, RxNorm.
