Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Decision Scientist - Clinical Informatics to activate the clinical data repository and enable analysts and data scientists to derive actionable insights. You will bridge clinical data assets with stakeholders, ensuring accessibility, documentation, and compliance with clinical standards.

You will build a scalable data feature store, document data lineage and business logic, and collaborate with data engineers to support downstream analytics and AI/ML use cases.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in clinical informatics or healthcare analytics.
• Familiar with CCD data, lab results, clinical notes, and administrative healthcare data.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, NDC, RxNorm.
• Ability to support downstream data consumers through documentation, training, and consultative support.
• Proficiency with SQL and experience with large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Familiar using cloud-based data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform tools including BigQuery.
• Understanding of data quality principles, validation, profiling, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Become a subject matter expert in clinical data, including CCD data.
• Build the clinical data feature store with standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Develop analytics by creating well-documented, validated data assets for analysts and data scientists.
• Create and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, lineage, and business logic.
• Build queries, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data quality and insights.
• Translate clinical concepts into analytical frameworks for business partners.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to support data pipelines.
• Learn data governance practices including HIPAA compliance and data stewardship.
• Stay current with HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, SNOMED-CT, LOINC, CPT, NDC, RxNorm standards.
