Job summary

Larkin High School in Elgin, IL is seeking a DECA coach to build and maintain a high-quality DECA team, delivering student-centered instruction and opportunities for competition.

Responsibilities include implementing research-based instructional strategies, maintaining equipment, communicating with parents and students, and preparing for District/State events while managing finances and paperwork. This is an Appendix F stipend position for the current school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business education or equivalent preferred.
• PEL certification preferred where applicable.
• High school diploma with related coursework/experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional strategies that engage all students and respect diverse backgrounds.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, administrators, teachers, and community leaders.
• Maintain high expectations for achievement and behavior and motivate students.
• Maintain equipment and materials for DECA activities.
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and create a conducive learning environment.
• Prepare for District/State contests and manage finances and administrative paperwork.
