Responsibilities

  • Finish and deburr components from blueprints or travelers to meet specs.
  • Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications.
  • Perform small set-ups on deburring equipment and gather tooling.
  • Deburr, polish, tumbling, and edge rounding per the operation sheet.
  • Measure using micrometers, Vernier calipers, Optical Comparer, dial bores, and pin gauges.
  • Inspect parts and document dimensional verifications.
  • Replace worn tooling and maintain a clean work area.

Full Time Manual Labor East Hartford, CT, US

Salary Range: $20.00 To $24.00 Hourly

Operates deburring equipment to produce highly precision component parts that meet all quality standards.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
  • Working from blueprints, operation sheets, travelers, or other specifications, completes finishing and deburring operations to produce quality parts.
  • Checks the product to meet all blueprint or operations specifications.
  • Performs minor set-ups on deburring equipment to perform necessary tasks. Obtains all necessary tooling, gages, and materials.
  • Deburring, polishing, tumbling, and rounding edges of product to be consistent to the blueprint operations sheet specifications.
  • Function may also include part marking, cleaning, or other various operations.
  • Measuring tools include micrometers, Vernier, Optical Comparer, dial bores, pin gages.
  • Performs visual inspections (part relationship to operation sheet/blueprint configuration) on all parts produced and performs actual dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the department or the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Replaces all worn or damaged tooling as necessary.
  • Verifies and records actual part count, both prior to and upon completion of all work.
  • Tumbling includes media selection and process development to ensure Quality product.
  • Responsible for blending corner radius and surfaces.
  • Use of microscopes for deburring operations.
  • Hand deburring of small parts, use of pencil grinders, bench grinders, drill presses and Carbide deburring tooling.
  • Keeps the equipment and work area clean and organized.
  • Notifies leadperson or supervisor of any parts shortages or machining problems/difficulties.
  • Packs and washes/preserves parts as needed.
  • Performs other machining and assembly operations as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Interacts with associates from all departments.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand operation sheets/blueprints, specifications, and all applicable company/customer paperwork.
  • Quality minded with the willingness and ability to cross train in other areas to provide support for cells.
  • One year plus experience in a machine shop or deburring environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs.
