Swiss American Screw Products is seeking a Deburring & Finishing Technician for the day shift at our Wayne County, MI facility. You will deburr, finish, clean, inspect, and prepare machined parts for shipment in a tight-tolerance aerospace/medical manufacturing environment.

No prior experience is required; we will train you. The role offers a stable schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with hourly pay of $18–$20.

Responsibilities

• Deburr precision machined parts by hand using bench tools, rotary deburring tools, buffers, and grinders.
• Run finishing equipment including disk, vibratory, and barrel finishers.
• Clean parts using ultrasonic, solvent tank, and parts washer systems.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs, damage, and defects, and set aside anything not meeting standards.
• Count, package, and prepare finished parts for shipment.
• Follow AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 procedures and complete required paperwork.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.

Deburring & Finishing Technician - Day Shift

Swiss American Screw Products | Wayne County, MI | $18–$20/hr | Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm | No experience required

Swiss American Screw Products has been making precision turned components since 1960. From our shop in southwestern Wayne County - minutes from Detroit Metro Airport - we run roughly twenty Swiss-style CNC machines, producing parts Ø20mm and smaller to tolerances as tight as ±.0002″ for the aerospace, medical, electronics, and tooling industries. We are AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified.

We are looking for a Deburring & Finishing Technician to join our day shift. You will take machined parts through their final steps - deburring, finishing, cleaning, inspecting, and preparing them for shipment - and make sure every part that leaves here meets our customers' standards.

No experience? Read this. This is one of the best ways into the machining trade. Precision machining is a skilled, well-paid career, and almost nobody starts out knowing how to do it - they get hired into a shop and learn. If you are dependable, careful with your hands, and want a trade instead of a job, we will teach you the rest. Several of our people started right here.

What You'll Do

• Deburr precision machined parts by hand using bench tools, rotary deburring tools, buffers, and grinders.


• Run our finishing equipment - disk, vibratory, and barrel finishing machines.


• Clean parts using ultrasonic, solvent tank, and parts washer systems.


• Visually inspect parts for burrs, damage, and cosmetic defects, and set aside anything that does not look right.


• Count, package, and prepare finished parts for shipment.


• Follow our AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures and complete required paperwork.


• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.

What You Need

• A strong work ethic and reliable attendance. This matters more to us than any line on a résumé.


• Good hand dexterity and steady attention to detail - our parts are small, and the tolerances are tight.


• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.


• Comfort doing focused, hands-on work while standing at a bench for much of the day.


• Willingness to learn. We will train you on everything else.

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Manufacturing, machine shop, or production experience of any kind.


• Experience with deburring, finishing, polishing, or parts cleaning.


• Familiarity with basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.


• Experience in a quality-driven environment such as aerospace or medical.


• Any hands–on background - automotive, trades, fabrication, assembly, or similar.

• $18–$20 per hour, depending on experience. Rate adjustment after 90-day test period.
